To satisfy the needs of people within the foodservice market, to establish a market for bulk ketchup, and to be more competitive in the bulk sales of mayonnaise, mustard, and barbeque sauce, Vemco once again took the initiative and invested in technology and equipment that was both innovative and risky. Instead of packaging in 1 gallon jars and #10 tins which was the industry standard, Vemco developed Katerpack 2L & 4L sachets for condiments.
With the introduction of new technology, Vemco introduced a consumer sachet for Swiss ketchup in the conventional 750 ml size called Econopak, giving the everyday person a quality tomato ketchup at a competitive price.
